Covenant

Community Guidelines

Effective 6 September 2026 · Last updated 6 September 2026

Covenant exists for people who intend to marry. That single fact sets the standard for how members treat each other here, and it is a higher standard than most places online. These guidelines sit alongside the Terms of Use; breaking them can cost you your account.

Be who you say you are

Your photographs should be of you and should be recent. Your age, your name and your marital status should be true. If you are married, or separated but not yet divorced, say so — there are members who will still want to talk to you, and they are entitled to decide that for themselves.

Say what you are looking for

People here are making one of the largest decisions of their lives. Wasting someone's year is a serious thing to do. If your intentions change, say so plainly and let them go.

Money never changes hands

Do not ask another member for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank details or investment. Do not ask on behalf of a relative, an emergency, a customs officer, a hospital or a business opportunity. There is no version of this that is legitimate, and an account that does it is closed.

Respect a no

If someone stops replying, that is an answer. Do not create a second account to reach them, and do not contact them elsewhere.

Keep it clean

No nudity or sexual content. No violence. Nothing that degrades a person for their ethnicity, state of origin, religion, disability or any other characteristic. Nigeria is a country of many peoples and Covenant is used across all of them.

What happens in a conversation stays there

Do not share another member's photographs, messages or details outside Covenant.

Meeting in person

Meet in public the first time. Tell someone where you are going — Covenant's trusted contacts and check-ins exist for this. Arrange your own transport home. None of that is distrust; it is what sensible people do.

Reporting

Report anything that breaks these guidelines. Reports are confidential and the member is never told who reported them. Include the conversation when you report, so our safety team can see what actually happened.
