Berean Scroll
Effective 16 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Apex Root Solutions LLC for the use of Berean Scroll. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Berean Scroll is published by Apex Root Solutions LLC ("we", "us"), a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Delaware, with its registered office in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, and its principal place of business in Cedar Hill, Dallas County, Texas. You can reach us at support@apsoluts.com.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Berean Scroll, or 16 if you are in a country where that is the minimum age for consent to data processing. Reading and personal study need no account. An account is required only for syncing, communities and courses.
If you create one, give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly at support@apsoluts.com if you believe it has been compromised. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Berean Scroll on devices you own or control, for your own study, teaching and ministry. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app itself, except where the law says you may despite this clause.
Berean Scroll ships and downloads Scripture editions, lexicons, morphological data, cross-references, commentaries and maps. Each of these is the work of its own publisher and carries its own licence. Your licence to use the app is not a licence to the resources inside it.
Every resource in the app records its source, edition, licence, copyright notice and attribution, and you can read all of it in the Library. Before you copy, quote, republish or build on any resource, check its entry there. Some carry obligations that travel with the text — a share-alike licence, for example, places conditions on anything you derive from it.
When you copy or share a passage, the app includes the edition's attribution. Do not remove it.
The content licence governs the content. Scripture editions, lexicons, notes, maps and other resources published by others ("third-party content") are provided to you under their own licences — for example public domain, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, or Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 — not under these terms. Each is identified, with its publisher and licence, on its page in the Library and on our content licences page. Nothing in these terms, in any App Store or Google Play terms that apply to the app, or in any technical measure we apply, limits, conditions or restricts any right that a content licence grants you, including any right to copy, share, adapt or redistribute that content. Where these terms and a content licence differ about third-party content, the content licence prevails.
Downloadable third-party content is supplied as ordinary files, which you may also obtain without the app, with each item's licence text and attribution, from our catalogue. These terms still govern the app itself, our own content and services, your account and subscriptions; they give you no right in third-party content beyond its licence, and its publishers do not endorse Berean Scroll.
Some third-party content may not be supplied in every country — for example, the Authorized (King James) Version in the United Kingdom. Where that is so, the app does not offer it there.
Your notes, highlights, worksheets, prayers, lessons and sermons remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
To run the service, you grant us a limited licence to store, copy and transmit your content only as far as operating the app requires — for example, to sync it between your devices, or to show a post to the community you posted it to. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Content you publish into a community is visible to that community and subject to its moderators.
The assistant is a research aid. It is not Scripture, not divine revelation, not a prophet, not a pastor, and not a final authority on doctrine. It can be wrong.
Answers are labelled as AI-generated wherever they appear. They are grounded in named sources so you can check them, and you should: verify what it tells you against the Scripture text and the sources it cites before you rely on it, teach it, or publish it. You are responsible for what you do with its output.
The assistant is available only to people aged 18 or over, and only with an account whose holder has said so. Do not use it if you are under 18.
The assistant is not a substitute for pastoral, medical, legal, financial or emergency help. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Anything you post, comment, share or submit must not be unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, deceptive, or an infringement of anyone's rights. Do not bully or target other members; do not impersonate anyone; do not share anyone's private information; do not upload malware; do not scrape or attack the service; and do not use it to spam or advertise.
Reporting and blocking. You can report any post or comment from the post itself, and block any member so you no longer see what they write. Reports go to the community's moderators and to us. We review every report within 24 hours. Where content breaks these terms, we remove it, and we remove members who post it — suspending or closing the account, and doing so at once for serious or repeated breaches. You can also write to support@apsoluts.com.
Community owners and moderators may set additional rules, moderate content and remove members within their own community. Roles are held within a community and never carry over into another.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will say why.
Churches, schools and other institutions may run communities and courses. Each institution is responsible for its own content, its enrolment, its student records and any consent its law requires.
Nothing in Berean Scroll is accredited by us, and neither the app nor any course in it confers a recognised academic qualification unless the issuing institution independently holds the accreditation it claims.
Some features may be offered on a paid plan. If they are, purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are billed, renewed, refunded and cancelled under that store's rules and your account settings there — not by us directly. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Prices and what a plan includes may change; we will tell you before a change affects a subscription you already hold.
Reading and personal study are designed to work offline, and we intend them to keep working without us. Features that need a server — syncing, communities, courses, the assistant — depend on that server being available, and we do not promise uninterrupted service.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice and, where we can, a way to export your work first.
You may stop using the app at any time, and may delete your account in the app (Library → Account → Delete my account) or as described on our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, or if we are required to by law. Material you kept only on your device stays on your device; deleting your account removes what was synced.
Except where the law does not allow it, Berean Scroll is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any text, resource or AI answer is free of error.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities. Where that is so, the exclusions above apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the app, your breach of these terms, your content, or your infringement of a third party's rights — including the licence terms of any Scripture edition or study resource.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to them.
Two exceptions. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. And where the mandatory consumer law of the place you live gives you the right to bring proceedings there, or to the protection of your own courts, nothing in this section takes that right away.
Texas, rather than Delaware, because that is where we do business and where a dispute would practically be heard. Our organisation as a Delaware company governs our own internal affairs under Delaware law; it does not govern this agreement with you.
If you believe something a member has posted infringes your copyright, write to support@apsoluts.com with: your name and contact details; the work you say is infringed; where the material is in the app; a statement that you believe in good faith its use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove material that we find infringes, and close the accounts of members who infringe repeatedly. A member whose material is removed may send us a counter-notice.
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies, and prevails where it conflicts with anything else in these terms:
If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the app.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change is material we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
