Screenshot Inbox

Terms of Use

Effective 6 September 2026 · Last updated 13 September 2026

These terms govern your use of Screenshot Inbox. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The two that matter most. The app reads text from images and can be wrong — check anything it puts in your calendar before you rely on it. And it can delete screenshots from your photo library, but only ones you confirm, and they go to Recently Deleted rather than disappearing.

1. Who you are contracting with

Screenshot Inbox is published by Apex Root Solutions LLC, a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Delaware, with its registered office in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, and its principal place of business in Cedar Hill, Dallas County, Texas. "We" and "us" mean that company; "you" means the person using the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms.

3. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Screenshot Inbox on Apple or Android devices you own or control, for your own purposes. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable where you live, or use it to build a competing product.

4. What the app does, and what it cannot promise

The app reads text from your screenshots on your device and proposes things to do with it — an event, a reminder, a saved link, a contact, a record. It uses the platform's on-device text recognition (Apple's on iPhone, Google's ML Kit on Android) and its own rules to do that.

Extraction can be wrong. Text recognition misreads things. Dates are ambiguous. A price on a screen may not be the price you were charged. The app shows you what it found and asks you to confirm before it acts, and that confirmation step is where mistakes are meant to be caught. You are responsible for checking anything you rely on — an appointment, a deadline, a return window, an amount. We do not warrant that anything the app extracts is accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose.

Nothing the app produces is professional advice of any kind.

5. Deleting your screenshots

The app can delete screenshots from your photo library. It will only ever do so for screenshots you have selected and confirmed, on a screen that tells you how many are involved and how many hold information you have not saved. That confirmation cannot be disabled.

Deletions go through iOS, which asks you as well, and deleted screenshots go to Recently Deleted in Photos where iOS retains them for a period it controls — around 30 days at the time of writing. Recovering something within that window is done in Photos, not here.

Subject to section 13, you accept that deleting a screenshot is your decision. We are not liable for a screenshot you confirmed the deletion of, and we cannot recover one after your photo library has finished removing it.

6. Your content and your permissions

Your screenshots and everything the app derives from them are yours. We claim no ownership and, having no server, hold no copy.

You are responsible for what you capture and keep. Do not use the app to store or process material you have no right to hold, and be aware that a screenshot of someone else's message, document or personal details may carry obligations of its own where you live.

The app asks for access to Photos, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, notifications and — only if you use arrival reminders — location. Each is requested when the feature that needs it is first used, and each can be refused or revoked in iOS Settings. Refusing one disables the feature that needs it and nothing else.

7. iCloud Sync

iCloud Sync is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, your saved items are copied into your own private iCloud database under your Apple Account. That storage is provided by Apple under its terms and counts against your iCloud quota. We have no access to it and cannot recover, restore or delete anything in it on your behalf. Sync working depends on your Apple Account, your storage allowance and your connection, none of which we control.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to store material you are not entitled to, or to interfere with the app's security or its operation on any device.

9. Paid features

Every install begins with one free trial of every feature, currently seven days, starting the first time the app is opened. It is offered once per device and per Apple or Google account; deleting and reinstalling the app does not begin a new one. When it ends, the free features continue and the paid features stop until a purchase is made. Nothing you saved is removed.

Some features are free and some require a purchase. Purchases and subscriptions are sold and processed by the store you installed the app from — Apple through the App Store, or Google through Google Play; we never see or handle your payment details. Prices are shown in the app in your own storefront's currency before you buy.

A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and you cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play subscription settings rather than here. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies; we cannot issue one. If your subscription lapses, the app keeps working and your data stays intact — features that need a subscription stop, and nothing you have already saved is taken away or deleted.

10. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will say so in the app or on this page before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.

Because the app works on your device without an account or a server of ours, we do not promise any particular uptime, and there is nothing for us to take offline that would stop the app you have already installed from working.

11. Ending this agreement

You may stop at any time by deleting the app; deleting it removes its data from your device. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 4, 5, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive the end of this agreement.

12. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that its text recognition or its suggestions will be correct, or that it will meet your requirements.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, or a missed date, deadline or return window, arising out of or relating to the app, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five United States dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising out of your misuse of the app, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of anyone's rights — including in material you captured or stored with it.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there where such a right cannot be waived.

16. Apple and Google

If you installed the app from Google Play, this agreement is between you and us, not with Google; Google is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Google's own terms for Google Play also apply to your use of the store.

If you installed the app from the App Store: this agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, a failure to conform to a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer-protection or privacy law. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending or resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any United States list of prohibited or restricted parties.

17. General

These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the app. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
